Right outside the doorsteps of Park Street Church are many opportunities to demonstrate God's heart for the city. Contribute your time, skills, or resources and join Park Street Church’s effort to extend the arms of Christ to the people of Boston. There are numerous formal ways for you to get involved in local service:
- Partner Organizations - Park Street Church partners with a variety of local Christian organizations that actively seek volunteers. View the Partner Organizations page to find out where you might be able to serve.
- Volunteer Database - The ChristianVolunteering.org service database provides an up-to-date list of service opportunities across the city of Boston. Visit the database, and find out what service opportunities are most compatible with your skills and interests.
- Service Small Groups - You can join a Park Street service small group: a group of like-minded people who make a commitment to God and to each other to reach out their community on a regular basis throughout the year. This is a great way to step out in faith while being surrounded by a supportive group of Christian brothers and sisters.
- Service at Café - If you are actively involved in the Park Street Café ministry, then consider becoming more involved in the service initiatives at Café, including the monthly Café Care and Connect and service small groups.
Another informal way to get involved in local service is simply to identify a need in your community and address it directly. Beautify your neighborhood by spending an afternoon picking up trash or use your technical skills to help a non-profit organization better fulfill its mission. If you are interested in getting involved with an informal service initiative, please contact us at CityWorks and let us know how your church and the CityWorks ministry can support you.
